Starcraft 2:
The Saga Continues?
Well, I want you to sit down, be still and listen to me very carefully. Here’s the big news:
The universe will once again be in a big mess!
Now guys…there’s no need to panic. Alright? Let me repeat very slowly…
Yes! You heard it right. The Starcraft universe will once again be in chaos as the three races once again will struggle for their survival and victory.
Blizzard Entertainment’s hit Starcraft real-time strategy video game will now have its sequel – the much awaited Starcraft II. The three powerful races – the rebel human Terrans, the noble Protoss, and the gruesome Zergs will again fight for dominance. Blizzard’s website has been flooded with questions from fans. However, Blizzard has been very careful in releasing information about Starcraft II since the game is still on the completion stage.
Introducing: Starcraft II:
One of the most surprising news that rocked the Starcraft universe is the fact that the new Starcraft is a trilogy because the game was anticipated to be a single game to continue the legacy of being an epic game. This was announced by Blizzard in the BlizCon last year. It has been a hard decision for them because it was choosing between continuing an epic and doing something spectacular. They feel that they have chosen the latter.
In Starcraft II, there will be three games. Meaning there will be one stand-alone game for each of the three races, namely: 1) Terran: Wings of Liberty, 2) Zerg: Heart of the Swarm and 3) Protoss: Legacy of the Void. Each game will have 26-30 missions and will give be an epic of its own. Each game will be a full product with a closure. It has been promised that in the sequel, there will be no more cliffhangers which had created disappointed to some of the players of the prequel.
Where’s the connection: Starcraft I and II:
The sequel will pick up the story from where the prequel left off – the Brood War. If you may reckon, the prequel Starcraft finished off with a cliffhanger – the Zerg queen Kerrigan. Starcraft II’s storyline will start four years after. It turned out that the cliffhanger was able to gather itself togther and form a formidable troops which later on turned out to be the most dominant force in the Koprulu Sector. Kerrigan and her horde crushed the United Earth Directorate’s Epeditionary Force, the Terran Dominion and even conquered Aiur (the Protoss’ homeworld). It is irony though that Kerrigan has decided to retreat in Char. This creates an anxiety on the races because they are now unsure of the Kerrigan’s plans. This is where Starcraft II’s storyline will unfold…
